The first large scale mosque in Victoria that serves over 800 people per day over the course of the five daily prayers. The Friday Congregational Prayer alone has over 1000 people alone.It was founded by the late Muslim cleric, Sheikh Fehmi Naji El-Imam OAM, who was appointed as Grand Mufti of Australia from 2007 to 2011. Before the mosque was built, Muslims would gather at a house that used to be on the property. This facility has been in operation since 1976 serving the Muslim community, the general public, school groups and many other members of society.
