This project seeks to install protective canopies at three key entrances of the mosque, providing shelter from rain and harsh weather conditions. These improvements will ensure safer access for families, elderly community members, and individuals with mobility needs.
As a sadaqah jariyah initiative, this project represents an ongoing charity that will continue to benefit all who attend the mosque for years to come, inshaAllah.

- Weather Protection: Durable polycarbonate roofing will provide shelter from rain and sun while still allowing natural light to pass through.
- Safe and Accessible Entry: Clear pathways and structured entry points will improve movement during busy times such as Jumu’ah and Eid.
- Modern and Thoughtful Design:The use of perforated metal panels and powder-coated aluminium creates a clean, contemporary look that complements the mosque’s architecture.
- Structural Integrity and Compliance: All works are being carried out in accordance with engineering and building standards, ensuring safety, durability, and compliance with national construction requirements .
- Comfortable Clearance and Space: The canopies are designed with a minimum headroom clearance of 2.7 metres to ensure ease of movement for all attendees Â
As part of the wider canopy renovation works at the Islamic Society of Victoria Preston Mosque, we are introducing a new emergency exit door at the front of the main prayer hall.
This important addition has been carefully designed to enhance the safety, accessibility, and overall security of all worshippers. In the unlikely event of an emergency, this exit will provide a clear, direct, and accessible evacuation pathway, ensuring the safe movement of all individuals within the mosque.
